OUTDOOR ADVENTURES MINISTRY.
Thank you for your interest in Outdoor Adventures Ministry. - welcome.
You are about to take part in God's great adventure. You will have the opportunity to grow and serve while you explore your own spiritual gifts and passion while bringing others to Christ. The Lord has a purpose for all of us and we are to worship and serve him.
With OAM, you will have many opportunities in Christian outreach. We are an activities based ministry who's goal is to expand our activities into all areas of outdoor interests. You are a part of a Christ centered evangelistic outreach you can be confident in as we move forward.
I would like to share a little bit about myself It's not long or complicated, but has an awesome ending.
As a child I grew up in a religious home was baptized a non-believer as a baby. After my dad died when I was 6 years old our family became a dysfunctional family and I started to get in trouble. In fourth grade I started a Catholic school in a suburb just outside of Chicago. As part of my schooling we had to take religion classes and I went to church sometimes twice a week then I was confirmed a non-believer as a teenager. But there was never the feeling I have now since giving my life to Jesus Christ and knowing He is my close personal friend and savior. Once I got out of eighth grade that’s when I turned my back on God and Religion. That was the beginning of the most horrible time in my life. After that I walked in darkness for the next 31 years. My life became full of what personifies the darkness; pain and terror that is evil; Immorality, Drug and Alcohol abuse, much of the same things that are not uncommon to many of us, and holds us down from experiencing the good life God wants to give.
By the time I was 18 years old, I was kicked out of my house do impart to my destructive life style. I was beginning to get a real understanding of what I now know was spiritual warfare. I have done a lot of things I'm not proud of, but God has forgiven me and has given me a new life in Christ.
On the weekend of July 4th,1998 I was rescued. It took me 37 years, at that point the odds were already against me. 80% of people accept Jesus Christ before they're 14 years old, if at all. I committed myself to Jesus Christ and made Him Lord of my life. He is continuously rebuilding my life into what He wants it to be. He accepted me just as I was; there is hope! He gave me a second chance at a life full of the peace, joy, and a happiness I never knew existed and thought it was always for the other person, or the church going type. Now I have a new family of believers that accepts me and cares about me for who I am. Jesus Christ is alive and looking to change every life He touches. Revelation 3:20 says Here I am! I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door I will come in and eat with him, and he with me. I'm truly grateful for my salvation. Although I still have my struggles I can personally testify to the positive life changing experiences that only He can offer. If you haven't accepted Jesus Christ yet, what are you waiting for?
OAM started as a vision out of my own spiritual journey, calling, and act of obedience. In November 1998, I started to consider how I'm going to serve our Lord? Through many spiritual nudgings, allot of prayer, and Christian advice, the vision of OAM got off the ground in March 1999 and is continuing to grow and mature as I am in Christ. I have truly been blessed with a new passion and purpose in life. I have been given the opportunity to use my love of the outdoors for a much needed cause; to share God's good news through his great outdoors.
Thank you for becoming part of this journey in Christ. As He guides this ministry, we will grow spiritually together. May our God richly bless you in every area of your life as you reach out to others. As always, your support and comments are encouraged and appreciated.
